Thirty-five years ago, Nikola Tanhofer, a cinematographer, director and educator, wrote that there are more and more film directors who shoot their own films, and more and more cinematographers who direct as well. With a lot of self-irony, he described a person in which we can easily recognize him.

Such people, who do everything in film and who can do everything, but probably aren’t even close to know everything, today exist in many film industries. In America, such people are called FILMMAKERS, and it seems certain that soon enough the existence of such widely educated film occupation will become reality here as well.
